Born in Basel, Eliane Gervasoni lives and works in Lausanne, Switzerland. She studied printmaking and participated in printmaking workshops in Switzerland and the UK. She was a member of HBP Printmakers studio in Manchester UK where she worked until 2010. In 2002 she opened her own printing studio in Lausanne.
In 1999, she obtained the 1st prize at 19th Mini Print International in Cadaques (SP). The same year she held a solo exhibition at Gallery Taller Fort in Cadaques where she exhibited 30 carborundum prints. During her stay in Spain, she was one of the jurors of the Miniprint Int Cadaques competition. Subsequently exhibitions in Spain, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic, UK, USA and Italy followed.
Eliane Gervasoni specialises in various printmaking techniques like etching, engravure, carborundum, collagraphs and embossing. From 2006, she has moved away from traditional printmaking techniques through an experimental process and has worked with industrial parts related to construction or other materials were diverted from their original function. More recently she has specialized particularly in embossing extra-white mould-made paper in order to exploit the interplay of shadow and light.
